I held a Junior Research Fellowship at the University of Cambridge from 2024. I finished my PhD at the University of Cambridge (King's College) in 2023, as a Cambridge International and King's College Scholar. My doctoral thesis was supervised by Professor Lars Vinx and examined by Professor Matthew Kramer and Professor Jonathan Herring. The thesis developed a new care ethical theory of political obligation. You can access the dissertation on the Cambridge repository here.

Before completing my PhD, I was awarded the Hatton-WYNG Junior Research Fellowship in Law, Medicine and Life Sciences at Hughes Hall. During the fellowship, I have written a monograph, Care and the Mandate of Medical Law, forthcoming with Oxford University Press in early 2027. The book draws on some material from my doctoral thesis but brings it into a new conversation with legal philosophical work on negligence. I discuss it here.

I hold an LLM from Cambridge (Lucy Cavendish College), where I achieved the second-highest result in the year. I was awarded the George Long Prize in Jurisprudence for a starred-first in the paper. I hold a BA.LLB (Hons) from the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences in Kolkata, where I graduated with three university medals.

I was born and raised in Bombay, which — despite the many years of living away — still feels like home.
